Covers the cost of your trip in case you unavoidably have to cancel it or rebook it. Can apply prior to the beginning of the trip or throughout your journey.

Applies in case of unforeseen circumstances that may require you to cancel or rebook your trip before departure to cover unrecoverable travel expenses and accommodation costs, including pre-paid activities, due to reasons such as injury, illness, death, personal quarantine, jury duty, home or business damage, redundancy, cancelled leave, transportation delays, and car issues.

Main exclusions

  • Government body advising against travel due to a pandemic
  • Any costs increase if fail to notify the provider of the trip cancellation
  • Unused travel tickets to a destination where we have already paid for alternative travel arrangements
  • Any rebooking costs that exceed the cost of your original booking.
  • Expenses when alternative travel arrangements have been made available within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time

  • Invoice or receipt for your trip
  • Original booking for unused pre-paid excursion
  • Booking invoice for a new flight (curtailment only)
  • Medical certificate in case of injury or illness
  • Other proofs of cancellation (if not medical)
  • Proof from the carrier if cancellation is due to a 24h delay

Compensates you for delayed outward or homeward journeys due to unforeseen circumstances.

Covered reasons include strikes or industrial action, adverse weather conditions, and mechanical breakdowns or technical faults in the scheduled public transport. To qualify, you must have attempted to check-in and received confirmation of the delay details from the carrier.

Main exclusions

  • Check-in post closure of the check-in counters arising from pregnancy complications.
  • Strike, industrial action, air traffic control delay existing or publicly declared when booking the trip

  • Invoice or receipts for emergency purchases

Missed departure
Up to £250

Covers you for additional expenses incurred if you miss your international departure due to late arrival caused by specific reasons.

Covered reasons include failure of other scheduled public transport, accidents or breakdowns of the vehicle you are traveling in, or major events causing significant road delays. Unforeseen adverse weather conditions are also included. Reimbursement includes reasonable and necessary additional accommodation (room only) and travel expenses outside the UK in your attempt to reach your international destination.

  • Didn't plan sufficient time to arrive
  • Strike or industrial action which started or had been announced before travel arrangements made
  • Privately chartered flights
